Principal's Corner

Welcome to Benjamin Russell High School, home of the Wildcats!

I am extremely honored and excited to be named principal of Benjamin Russell High School.  Alexander City has been my home for fifteen years, and I have worked in our school system since 2009.  I have a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education/Social Sciences from AUM.  I also hold a Master's in Educational Leadership from Jacksonville State and an Ed.S. from the University of Alabama.

Here at BRHS, we believe in supporting students by preparing them for an ever-changing world.  We are here to create a community of ownership and excellence by offering students a chance to grow as individuals.  The BRHS faculty and staff encourage our students to become leaders, set the example, and push themselves academically.  There are several career tech opportunities and pathways that meet the individual learning needs of our students.  Whether our students are AP students, athletes and band members, or workforce driven, we help guide them to achieve their goals.  Our school has a long tradition of high levels of achievement, and we are committed to creating a culture and climate that lays the foundation for excellence.

The instructional model at our school is designed to build 21st century skills and real world relevance.  This year presents a number of challenges, but I like to look at challenges as opportunities for growth.  Push yourself to learn and build your abilities.  I am looking forward to serving you and our community.
